If you’ve been looking at one of our rugged phones or smartphones, you may have already noticed that they are either Dual-SIM, or Hybrid-Dual SIM Devices, but what does this mean for you? As you can gather from the name Dual-SIM means that the user is able to insert two sim cards or either one sim card and one microSD card at the same time. Not only is this feature more convenient for the user but it’s also cost-effective!

Currently, not all Dual-SIM phones function in the same way, therefore it is important to keep in mind that there are two types of dual SIM phones that a user can purchase, which include Dual SIM Active and Dual SIM Standby. Dual-SIM Active means that two SIM cards can be active at once, for example, a user will be able to receive a call on one SIM and take a call on the second SIM, basically, the two SIMS can be active at once, given your device supports 4G LTE technology as this is what makes it possible. Dual-SIM Standby means both SIMS will be active at all times, however, you may only choose one at a time for data and if one sim is active on a call the other will not be able to take calls and this will be forwarded to its voicemail. It will however be available to take a call again once the other line is no longer active.
How to use a memory card with a Dual SIM phone
Many of our Dual SIM phones combine the microSD slots and the SIM slots together to support either a SIM card or a microSD card, which allows the phone to add additional storage space to the device if you would like. In this case, you can use either two SIM cards, or one SIM and one microSD card, but not all three cards at once.
