Our Story

Rugged SA Founded

University and lifelong friends finds Rugged SA in 2016.
Rugged SA established its first Premises in Fairlands, Randburg 75sqm, in an old 3-bed-
room apartment at the back of a law firm, appointing its first 3 permanent employees and
establishing a repair center in the kitchen area.
Appointed as the Exclusive Distributor of Blackview, a Rugged Phone Brand aimed at the
enterprise and working class market of South Africa.
Appointed as the Exclusive Distributor of Ulefone a Rugged Phone Brand aimed at the
enterprise and working class market of South Africa.

Rugged SA Finds its Feet

Rugged SA started finding its feet, moving to larger premises at 47 Kroton Street, Weltevre-
denpark 130 sqm, employing 8 full time employees at the end of the year and increasing
our
customer base 10 Fold.
Appointed as the Exclusive Distributor of AGM, a Rugged Phone Brand aimed at the
enterprise
and working class market of South Africa.
Appointed as a platinum partner of Chainway, an Enterprise Scanning/RFID Solutions
Brand.

Rugged SA Starts distribution channels

Rugged SA starts projects on launching a distribution channel into MTN, Vodacom and
Telkom as preferred Ruggedised goods supplier.






Rugged SA Expands More

Rugged SA experiences significant growth and moves to larger premises in the Constantia
Office Park 350sqm, employing over 20 employees at the end of the year.
Starting to establish key relationships with large corporate entities and Mobile Operators
claiming a stake as one of the top 6 hardware suppliers into MTN.
Rugged SA Launches RUGGEX, its own Brand of Enterprise Devices, aimed at dominating
the enterprise sector of South Africa.
RUGGEX, a line of Intrinsically Safe Phones and Tablets for the mining and petrochemical
industry is launched

Establishes its Tender Centre to empower growing SME business within Government.
Established Rugged Africa to further invest in and advance previously disadvantaged
individuals and SME's.
Rugged SA launches RIZZEN, its own worldwide, consumer and enterprise electronic
brand aiming to become a household brand in the retail and educational sector in
the African and International Market.
Becomes a Distribution Partner of Zebra, Bluebird and Durabook.
